These workshops are run at PapierWespe Studio Vienna, Austria by paper and book professionals

SPECIAL: Each year the studio offers a unique chance to learn from a well known professional
of the paper field. 2012 Boris Hammer, a long-term staff member of the Swiss Museum for Paper, Writing and Print at Basel will run two workshops.
Woven Mould Construction, 4th and 5th October
Each participant will prepare a Vergé screen from brass rods and fix the screen onto a
prefabricated professional larch wood mould. Finally we will make some rag paper samples
with our new A4 mould.
Traditional Copper Watermarks, 6th, 7th and 8th October
The mould made at the “Woven Mould Construction” is very suitable for watermarks, but participants may also bring their own mould. During the workshop a watermark from a copperplate and one from copperwire will be made and sewn onto the screen. An introduction into the cultural history of Watermarks will be given.
